This afternoon, I found myself scrolling through my Instagram feed, looking at all the pictures I’ve posted. And I couldn’t help but wonder—what am I doing wrong? How is it that with over five hundred and fifty followers, my photos are getting only three likes?
That thought lingered longer than I wanted it to. So, without overthinking it, I went into my settings, hit disable account, and decided to start fresh. I created a new profile—a space where I promised myself I’d be true. No more posting just to please the algorithm, no more curating an image that doesn’t feel like me.
I don’t want to be fake. I want my online space to feel real, even if it means fewer likes and slower growth. I’d rather have a small circle who connects with the real me than a crowd drawn to something I’m not.
This time, I’m going to show up as myself—flaws, quirks, truths, and all. And I’m determined to keep that promise.
